Documentation for ClassiPress Original v2.9

General Configuration Page

  • Color Scheme – This option allows you to select the color scheme you want for your site.
  • Website Logo – Paste the URL of your website logo image in this text box. It will replace the default ClassiPress header logo. The image needs to be hosted somewhere first. It’s recommended to upload your logo to your root directory which makes it easy to link to. Test the url in your browser first to make sure it works before pasting it into this field.
  • Ad Posting Permissions – If you want to require users to first register on your site before posting an ad, set this option to “No”. User registration is handled by WordPress and it’s required if you want to use the built-in dashboard and user profile pages.
  • Allow Ad Editing – Any registered user on your site will be able to edit and save their ads if this option is set to “Yes”. If you don’t want your users to have this level of control, then don’t turn this option on.
  • Default New Ad Status – If your site is providing free ads and you want to manually approve each one before it goes live, set this option to “Draft”. This is the recommended option to avoid spam or inappropriate ads from appearing on your site. If you are charging people to list ads on your site, this option will automatically be overwritten to “Published”.
  • Ad Pruning – Option to remove ads listed on your site after a certain length of time. For small sites, it’s recommended to leave this option set to “No” otherwise your site might look empty. If this option is set to “No”, then the “XX Days” field will not be applied.
  • Prune Status – Once an ad has been pruned, this option either sets the ad back to “Draft” or deletes it from your WordPress database. Be very careful with this option because once the ad has been deleted, you are not able to recover it. It’s recommended to set this to “Draft”. This option is dependent on “Ad Pruning” being set to “Yes”.
